Peach kernel oil (Prunis persica) is similar to Sweet Almond and Apricot carrier oils. It is cold extracted from the kernel, or seed, from the peach fruit.
The oil is very light and a golden yellow in color. It absorbs into the skin easily and is a great massage oil for spot massage or even the whole body.
Peach kernel oil contains Omega fatty acids 3, 6, and 9. These Omega fatty acids are said to help repair and moisturize skin, especially skin that is dry or aged. It is also a great oil to use when skin has been overexposed to sun or wind. Use it with a light cooling and healing oil like Lavender to help lower the pain and heal a sunburn.
Peach kernel oil also contains Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin E. It acts as a barrier to help protect your skin. It is also suggested for hair since it is a light and easily absorbed oil. Not only that, but it can protect your hair while not making your hair look greasy.
We recommend that all carrier oils only be used externally.
